Kosamabari is specially prepared during Ram Navami, Navarathri, fasting days, and Gouri pooja for naivedyam to God and distributed as prasadam to devotees. It is a must-try recipe in the mango season.

Mango kosambari ingredients:
Boiled green moong dal – 1/2 cup
Raw mango - 1 small chopped tbsp
Coconut – 2 tbsp grated
Coriander leaves – 5 sprigs chopped
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
To temper:
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
Green chili – 1
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Hing/Asafoetida - A pinch
Tips:
1. Use raw mango for the best flavor.
2. You can garnish with some pomegranate kernels.
3. Green moong dal can be replaced with yellow moong dal.
4. Adjust green chilies as per spice.
5. You can use mung sprouts instead of green moong dal.
How to make mango kosambari:
1. Combine the green moong dal, raw mango, salt, lemon juice, and grated coconut in a mixing bowl.
2. In a tadka pan, heat oil on medium heat and temper mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chili, and asafoetida. Fry for a minute and turn off the heat.
3. Now add the seasoning to the Kosambari mixture and give it a nice mix.
4. Garnish the mango kosambari salad with chopped coriander leaves or cilantro and serve them immediately.
How to make mango kosambari with step by step photos:

2. Add the required salt and lemon juice. Combine it well.
