The fruit cream recipe is a decadent, creamy fruit-based dessert from Punjab, India. It is a chilled sweet dish enjoyed particularly on hot summer days. The ingredients required to make are mixed fruits, fresh cream, and sugar. It is such a delicious dessert.
You can add any type of fruit to this fruit cream. But I don't like to add melon varieties like watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, musk melon, and sugar melon. It releases lots of water and makes the fruit cream watery and soggy.
As per whipping cream, you can either use half & half cream or heavy cream for this dessert. I used to make fruit cream in India with Amul fresh cream, and here I like horizon fresh cream.
Similarly, sugar quantity can be adjusted as per your sweet tooth. If the fruits are sweet enough, use less sugar and vice-versa. Alright, now let's get into the recipe.

Fruit Cream Recipe Ingredients:
2. Powdered Sugar - half to 1 cup.
3. Mixed Fruits - 2 to 3 cups chopped (apple, mango, banana, papaya, grapes, pomegranate, kiwi, berries, pear, pineapple, plums).
4. Milk - 1/4 cup optional.
5. Nuts - Almonds, Cashews, Walnuts, pecans, dates, figs, pistachios, raisins, cherries.

How to make fruit cream dessert:
1. Take a deep bowl and pour 2 cups of heavy whipping cream. (Note: You may chill the bowl in the refrigerator for 10 minutes and skip this if you live in a colder climate).
6. Now, the fruits are nicely coated with cream, and it looks thick and creamy.
8. Sprinkle some finely chopped nuts, raisins, cherries, and pomegranate seeds over the fruit cream to get a nutty and crunchy bite.
How to make fruit cream with step by step photos:
2. Start whipping the cream using an electric mixer on the lowest setting and gradually increasing the speed. (Note: This process takes about 5 minutes).
3. Add sugar once the whipping cream is half done. Again whip the cream and sugar until it doubles in quantity and forms stiff peaks. Refrigerate the whipped cream for 15 minutes. (Note: Powdered sugar works best to get a smooth texture).
4. In the meantime, chop your favorite fruits into bite-sized pieces.
5. Remove the whipping cream from the refrigerator. Add fruits into the cream and gently fold it using a silicone or wooden spatula. (Note: Make sure you do not mash the fruits by stirring them vigorously).
7. You may add a quarter cup of milk to get a semi-liquid consistency. (Note: This step is optional. My whipping cream was very thick, so I had to mix some chilled milk).
How to store fruit cream dessert:
It might turn sour if it is stored for a longer time.
If you are planning to make this dessert for a party, you can prepare the whipped cream and store it in an airtight container and chop the fruits (except apple and banana) ahead and stash them in the refrigerator separately.
On the day of the party, you can combine the chopped fruits and whipping cream right before serving.
