Grilled Bell Pepper Salad Recipe / Grilled Capsicum Salad Recipe


Grilled capsicum recipe | Capsicum salad Indian recipe | grilled bell pepper recipe with detailed step by step photos. I made this salad for my lunch. Usually, I prepare this salad whenever I have all the three color bell peppers in stock.

Here, I have used a non-stick pan to grill peppers and red onion. You can use an iron skillet too. Additionally, I have mentioned coconut oil, cumin seeds, and red chili powder to give the salad an Indian desi twist which is completely optional. Chili powder can be replaced with black pepper and other spices as well. 

This salad should be crunchy and not overcooked, so keep the flame high while cooking and make sure it doesn't burn, the total cooking time should be around 4 to 5 mins. So let's get started! (Bell pepper is also known as capsicum).


Ingredients: Serves-2


Green bell pepper - half
Orange bell pepper - half
Red bell pepper - half
Red onion - half
Cilantro - 1 tbsp
Coconut oil - 2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder - 1/4 tsp
Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
Salt - As per taste

Procedure:


1. Chop the capsicum and red onion into 1-inch sized pieces or slice vertically. (Note- Discard the pepper seeds).

2. keep a pan on a medium flame. Add coconut oil, once it is hot, add some cumin seeds.

3. Keep the flame high now. Toss the chopped onions, saute for a minute or 2 and remove it from the pan. (Note- Onions should be crunchy and do not saute until it turns translucent or dark brown).

3. In the same pan, add the color peppers and saute for 2 to 3 mins on a high flame. (Note - Peppers should be crunchy).

4. Add a generous pinch of red chili powder or crushed pepper and turn off the flame.

5. Add some sesame seeds if you like.

6. Add the grilled onions in the end and give it a mix.

7. Crunchy bell peppers with onion salad are ready. Serve with rice, roti, etc. Enjoy:)
